Modern western civilization has human beings leading very intense lives. We’re working longer hours, with less relief. We’re being bombarded with information at a rate unprecedented in history. The first humans found to have a brain relatively similar to ours were 200,000 years old, which means that even though our environments have changed drastically, we’re still walking around with a very similar brain as we had back then. As a result, we’re more stressed, anxious and depressed than we’ve ever been, just from going about our daily lives.
One of the questions we’re constantly being asked is how can we use CBD to cope with life’s everyday challenges? We’ve been doing some in-house testing with great results. In order to understand them, we must first start with a basic education on how CBD works in the body.
The Endocannabinoid System
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a biological system of the human body. It is composed of cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the central nervous system, the brain and the peripheral nervous system. Cannabinoids, found in the Cannabis plant (along with a few other plant species), bind to these cannabinoid receptor proteins to impact the body in various ways scientists are still trying to determine and understand. There is evidence to suggest the ECS might be involved in regulating physiological and cognitive processes, including pain-sensation, mood, memory and much more.
Research is still trying to pinpoint exactly how the ECS works and exactly how cannabinoids impact the body, so while we wait for the science, we decided to do some in-house testing here at BioCBD+. While we cannot claim that this will work for everyone, the following protocols definitely worked for our team members. So how can CBD help with life’s everyday challenges? Here’s what we found.
- When you’re up late and won’t get full night sleep.
It’s no secret that diminished sleep amount, and sleep quality, negatively impacts our overall health and quality of life. In fact, when taken to the extreme, prolonged sleep deprivation can actually kill us. Sleep is fundamentally important for our general wellness, and we take it very seriously here at BioCBD+.
We found that if we’re up late and don’t think we’ll get a good night’s sleep, taking 3-4 tablets of CBD before we go to bed that night helps reduce the negative impact on the body. We noticed a significant increase in alertness the following morning, less moodiness and less tiredness. - You’ve had a stressful day with work or family.
Stress has very serious side effects for all of us. Prolonged stress can cause anxiety, high blood pressure, fatigue, restlessness, and overwhelm. It can weaken the immune system and even cause heart disease.
During our in-house testing, we found that after having had an extra stressful day with work or family, taking 3-4 BioCBD+ tablets helped induce calm and put the nervous system at ease. If you’re interested in reading more about the relationship between CBD and stress, we go into much more detail in our article here.
- When you’re taking a long flight and worried about jet lag.
The side effects of jet lag are similar to that of insomnia—daytime fatigue, mood changes and disturbed sleep patterns, amongst others. While not as severe as prolonged insomnia, if you travel frequently and are looking to maintain your productivity levels, taking CBD might help.
If you’re interested in exploring ways to minimize the effect of jet lag, we found that taking 3-4 BioCBD+ tablets prior to getting on the plane helped reduce the side effects of jet lag after an international long haul flight. Continue the protocol for as many days as needed and you may find it helps significantly.
- If an ailment you have is flaring up.
If you’re dealing with any kind of chronic pain or ailment and you’re having some kind of flare up, it could be a perfect time to begin the protocol of 3-4 tablets a day.
Preclinical studies are looking at the role of CBD in relieving symptoms caused by arthritis, chronic pain, MS pain, and muscle pain and the results have been so profound that a drug named Nabiximols (Sativex), was developed from a combination of THC and CBD for multiple sclerosis and is approved in the United Kingdom and Canada to treat MS pain.

- After a big workout when you know you’ll be sore.
Exercise is part of healthy living, and sometimes we want to push our bodies to build more muscle, or increase our cardiovascular fitness. This often leaves us feeling very sore the next day.
If you’re looking to mitigate the impact of a hard workout on your body, we found that taking 3-4 tablets of BIOCBD+ after our workout and then for the following few days decreased our recovery time significantly.
There you have it—five ways taking CBD can help with life’s everyday challenges. As we stated earlier, we are not making claims that this will work for everyone, but we found it worked well for our team members in these situations. So give it a try, and let us know how you go in the comments below!
