What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of about 80 known phytocannabinoids known to exist within the cannabis plant (can also be found in the hemp plant) . These different phytocannabinoids are known to exist in different levels in different cultivars of cannabis. Most of the cannabinoids don’t exist in large enough concentrations to have any effect, but CBD concentrations can be as high as 40% in CBD-rich cultivars of industrial hemp such as ours.

Is CBD from industrial hemp as good as CBD from marijuana?

Absolutely! CBD from industrial hemp is just as powerful as CBD from marijuana. Because our CBD is hemp-derived, it is available in all 50 states and over 45 countries.

What is the recommended dosage?

Please follow the specific serving suggestions printed on each of our products. Remember, BioCBD Plus™ products are more bioavailable than other oil-based CBD products, so you don’t need as much.  Start with 10mg (1 capsule), for capsules, and 15mg (1ml) for the Rapid Relief gel, twice a day, then titrate up to 30mg twice a day if needed.  We also recommend:  Upon reaching the desired effect, try to slowly back off the daily intake, until you are on only 10mg per day or less! Many of our customer find consistent relief in this way. For the topical oil, we recommend using as little or as much as you need, it really is a personal preference and you will see right away what is effective for you.

What is the difference in dosing between BioCBD+™ versus other Oils?

We specialize in providing water soluble CBD that is effective in much lower doses than regular cannabidiol (oil).  When our industry first began, people were dosing with 200mg of CBD and more, trying to get as much as they could into their bodies.  It was quite common for people to use that much without any negative side effects and it is safe to use water soluble CBD with it’s smaller particle size to enter your body and get flushed out when not needed…You can double or even triple your dose of BioCBD Plus™, with no known negative side effects.

What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS) and how does cannabidiol (CBD) work?

Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. In each tissue, the cannabinoid system performs different tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis, the maintenance of a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment. Endocannabinoids are naturally occurring substances that activate the same receptor sites as phytocannabinoids from the cannabis plant.

Where do we get our oil?

All of our hemp is organically grown and processed in ideal hemp cultivation climates around Europe, where it is multiple times, before the highest quality CO2 Extracted CBD Oil is sent to our labs.  We then test the product again prior to being converted to our proprietary curcumin technology.

Are hemp-based products legal?

Yes. BioCBD Plus™ is available in all 50 states and 45 countries legally.  Our products come from hemp oil that is legally imported into the United States under FDA Tariff Codes as a dietary supplement.

BioCBD+ Water Soluble CBD products have been a legal import to the United States for decades, with authorities well aware that there is almost always trace amounts of THC and other cannabinoids (like CBD) in hemp products.

Yet, there are many misunderstandings and stigmas associated with hemp. Here at EAD Labs and BioCBD+, we have engaged the top legal attorneys in the Cannabis Industry to support us and make sure we are compliant. As a company, it is extremely important to use that we follow federal law and through our legal team, we work with government agencies to make sure we are compliant in bringing Hemp Products to our customers. Here is a quick snapshot of the landscape here in the United States:

Some components of cannabis are illegal, others are legal. The US
Government defines “marijuana” (the government actually uses an old
spelling of “marihuana”) as being specific parts (and not all parts) of
the Cannabis sativa plant, including the flowers, leaves, resin, seeds
(capable of germination) and a few constituents of the plant. This is why
both industrial hemp and marijuana are outlawed at the federal level – the
government classifies any cannabis plant’s flowers, leaves, resin, etc. as
“marijuana,” regardless of what anyone calls it: “hemp” or “marijuana.”

At EAD Labs and BioCBD+ we only use the components of the plant that
are NOT marijuana –  we only use the mature stalks & sterilized
seeds. Review this code 21 U.S.C. 802 (16) which gives the definition of
“marijuana” that’s still used today:

“The term ‘marihuana’ means all parts of the plant Cannabis sativa L.,
whether growing or not; the seeds thereof; the resin extracted from
any part of such plant; and every compound, manufacture, salt,
derivative, mixture, or preparation of such plant, its seeds, or resins;
but shall not include the mature stalks of such plant, fiber produced
from such stalks, oil or cake made from the seeds of such plant, any
other compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation
of such mature stalks (except the resin extracted therefrom), fiber, oil,
or cake, or the sterilized seed of such plant which is incapable of
germination.”

Important: Natural cannabinoids in hemp products are exempt from
DEA enforcement. Thanks to the HIA vs. DEA case in 2004 [PDF], the
DEA cannot schedule even trace amounts of THC in the parts of
the Cannabis plant that do NOT fit their definition of marijuana.

CBD (Cannabidiol) is not listed on the Controlled Substances Act
(CSA) Drug Schedule. The Controlled Substances List within the
Controlled Substances Act Schedule does not list cannabidiol (DEA
Number 7372) as a controlled substance. Schedule I clearly covers
tetrahydrocannabinols (THC and its variants), their isomers, and other
compounds of these structures. Cannabidiol has a different molecular
structure and a different DEA Control Number. It is not listed in the CSA
Schedule I and is not included under the definition for
tetrahydrocannabinols.

Hemp oil is a legal import. EAD Labs & BioCBD+ hemp products are
legally imported under Tariff Code 1515.90.80.10 [PDF]: Harmonized Tariff
Schedule of the United States, Section III – “Animal or vegetable fats and
oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable
waxes”, Chapter 15. (Control/ Command “F” for Search/ Find: “hemp oil.”)
Our hemp products pass all U.S. federal requirements for importation. This
allows us to ship our hemp products, that are derived from hemp oil, to
anywhere in the U.S.

Conclusion: There is a lot of confusion among activists, legislators and the
general public alike, yet the federal definition of marijuana and DEA vs. HIA, both
support the fact that CBD (and even trace amounts of THC) found naturally in
hemp products (as long as these products are derived from the parts of Cannabis
sativa that are excluded from the definition of marijuana) are 100% legal at the
U.S. federal level. Jus like hemp consumer products, such as Hemp Seeds,
Hemp Milk, & Hemp T-Shirts are legal at the federal level.

Is BioCBD+™ made from organically grown and processed hemp?

Yes, and our products are also considered raw, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, soy free, nut free, and free of artificial coloring and flavoring.

Why is there less BioCBD+™ when compared to other CBD in other products?

BioCBD™ is NOT your average CBD oil. It’s not even your average water soluble CBD, as our technology is unlike anything on the market. BioCBD™ is our proprietary blend of highly bioavailable, water soluble CBD* + Ayurvedic herbs. BioCBD™ is more easily absorbed and utilized by your body than all other oil-based CBD products. This allows us to use less CBD and still outperform others on the market. Then we pass the savings on to you!

What’s the ideal serving size and how often should I take it?

Please follow the specific serving suggestions printed on each of our products. What is the extraction process for the CBD in BioCBD+?

We use supercritical CO2 extraction. Subcritical/Supercritical CO2 oil extraction has several advantages over other extraction mediums, such as alcohol and hydrocarbons: CO2 is nontoxic and is Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS) by the FDA for use in food products. Our bodies produce it when we breathe, and it is commonly used in carbonated beverages. With CO2 as a solvent for oil extraction, no toxins, heavy metals or hydrocarbon materials come in contact with the extracted oils. CO2 is “solvent free”. Other extraction solvents, such as hydrocarbon based propellants like propane and butane, hexane and pentane, or ethanol/alcohol mixtures require additional distillation or purging beyond the extraction process to separate the solvent from the extracted oil. CO2 has a very low boiling temperature and wants to be a gas a room temperature, thus it naturally separates from the extracted oil the same way a soda goes “flat”. The spent plant material is also free of residual solvents so it can be re-used as well. CO2 is non-flammable. Flammable solvents must be processed in a NEMA Class 1, Division 1, 2 or 3 (explosion proof) environment. CO2 is not flammable and does not require costly explosion proof facilities. CO2 is “cold” – Botanical oil extractions can be done at temperatures that are native to the botanical material, minimizing thermal degradation of the plant material and the extracted oil. CO2 is “tunable” – the solvency power of CO2 can be adjusted simply by increasing or decreasing pressures and/or temperatures. The ability of the CO2 to selectively extract affords the ability to create unique extractions that have varying levels of desirable oils and waxes (see below). Less desirable plant constituents, like chlorophyl, can also be “de-selected”. CO2 is inexpensive. CO2 is readily available and widely used throughout several industries. In addition, Apeks’ production CO2 oil extraction systems recirculate and subsequently recover 95% of the CO2 used in each extraction. CO2 is environmentally friendly. Industrial CO2 for extractions comes from byproducts – primarily hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing and fermentation for ethanol. CO2 used for extractions does not contribute to the overall atmospheric CO2 levels.
